Why Hypnotherapy?
Suppressed in the subconscious, painful emotions from traumas or difficult life experiences can become chronic conditions. They may manifest as addictions or undesirable habits and can often lead to serious illness if left unaddressed. Shedding light on these "ghosts in our closets," or embracing these hidden aspects of self, therefore, is an effective route to maintaining good health and improving overall wellbeing and general effectiveness in life.
Hypnotherapeutically, there are different ways to approach this. Some clients and hypnotherapists prefer to take a cognitive approach to presenting symptoms without focusing too heavily on finding the root cause that influences the behaviour.
In this case, for example, if a person is experiencing sleeplessness or stress, even as a result of a childhood trauma, the hypnotherapist will work on improving the client's behaviour around sleep and stress management. It is believed that a sort of ripple effect on deeper levels takes place, thereby changing the client's perspective of their own past, and so negative or destructive behaviours are transformed.
Other hypnotherapists prefer Hypnotic Age Regression where, while in hypnosis, the client returns to the initial trauma, or root cause of the presenting symptom or destructive behaviour, and experiences a version of reliving the event. This causes an emotional release which defuses the power the event has held over the client up until this point and the ripple effect works from the inside out, thereby changing negative or destructive habits, thought patterns or behaviours.
Both methods are, in my opinion, effective. It is the client who chooses what resonates with him or her.
What can I expect during a Hypnotherapy session?
With hypnotherapy, a client will experience signs of recovery instantly and changes are usually permanent. Whether the choice is the cognitive hypnotherapeutic approach or age regression, direct access to the subconscious mind is key. Here, new suggestions are placed which immediately cause a shift to viewing the situation in a more realistic light, thereby restoring the client's appropriate power and control.
During the first Hypnotherapy session the clients' desired changes are clarified. We identify contributing behaviour, develop insight into the situation and set goals. Clients can expect to be hypnotized from the first session onward. Please bear in mind, however, that Hypnotherapy is not "talk therapy." The more time we spend talking, the less time we spend on hypnosis.
A total of six weekly sessions is recommended for most situations, including smoking cessation, while two or three sessions can be enough to help a person create the desired change for improving their performance at work, for example. The whole process helps identify behaviours, environmental factors, and mental processes that create blocks to your freedom, then transforms these to create new and constructive behaviours.
What is a billywheeling Healing?
For those who are in tune with their spiritual existence and who consciously care for their soul, either alone or blended with Hypnotherapeutic techniques, a billywheeling healing helps transmute psychic wounds carried in the subtle bodies into opportunities for growth, strengthening and healing. Together we are able to honour your being. While either witnessing past painful events (or celebrating new learning opportunities) and, or transmuting or liberating the difficult energies associated with them, clients reconnect more fully to their own inner source of power. The result is often expressed in a return of energy and increased vibrational frequency. Methods will vary depending on your needs.
